After his conversion St. Augustine, became a priest, bishop and Doctor of the Church. He is known as the “Doctor of Grace” based on his many and beautiful writings on the Gospels, the Spiritual Life, and about man’s utter dependence on the Grace of God. His Augustinian Monastic rule is one of the original rules for religious life and the basis for the rules of many other communities of religious.
We pray today in thanksgiving to God for the beauty of His works and for raising man to share in the glorious work of saving souls and giving glory to God. St. Augustine says: “Approach the mountain, climb up the mountain, and you that climb it, don’t go down it. There you will be safe, there you will be protected. Christ is your mountain of refuge. And where is Christ? At the right hand of the Father, since He has ascended into heaven.” Comments are closed.
