Happy Feast of the Stigmata of St. Francis! As St. Francis was called to rebuild the church through his love for our Lord, fasting and prayers, we can also do our part with our prayers and sacrifices. Cardinal Raymond Burke and Bishop Athanasius Sneider are calling for a 40 day Crusade of Prayer and Fasting from today, Sept. 17th until October 26th. They suggest that the faithful say 1 decade of the Rosary daily and fast 1 day per week.
The intention for the days of prayer are that theological errors and heresies may not be approved in the upcoming Amazon synod (Oct 6-27) and that Pope Francis may “confirm his brethren in the faith by an unambiguous rejection of the errors.” The church needs all of our prayers.
