Prayer of Reparation to the Sacred Heart O Lord Jesus Christ, deign to look with mercy upon us who come to console Your Divine Heart and to make amends for our sins and the sins of mankind. May our promises touch Your Divine Heart, and obtain mercy for ourselves and for all the guilty world, particularly for those who do not know or love You. For the forgetfulness and ingratitude of men, **We will console You, Jesus. (Repeat) For the abandonment of You in the Holy Tabernacles, ** For the crimes of sinners, ** For the hatred of the impious, ** For the injuries inflicted on Your Divinity, ** For the sacrileges which profane your Sacrament of love, ** For the irreverence committed in Your holy presence, ** For the perfidy of which You are the adorable Victim, ** For the coldness of the greater number of Your children, ** For the little account they make of Your Love, ** For the infidelities of those who call themselves Your friends, ** For our resistance to Your grace, ** For our own resistance and infidelities, ** For the hardness of our hearts, ** For our long delay in loving You, ** For the bitter sadness You feel at the loss of souls, ** For Your long waiting at the door of our hearts, ** For the bitter insults heaped upon You, ** For Your sighs of love, ** For Your tears love, ** For your martyrdom of love,** O Divine Jesus, whose Sacred Heart uttered this sorrowful complaint: "I sought for one to console Me and found none," deign to accept this poor offering of our love and consolation. Assist us with the power of your grace, that shunning more and more all that is displeasing to You, we may prove ourselves Your devoted children always and everywhere. We ask this through Your Divine Heart, Who with the Father and the Holy Spirit live and reign world without end. Amen. Today we adore the Most Sacred Heart of Jesus burning with love for us and try to return to Him our love and console Him in his bitter agony.
Excerpt from the Diary of St. Faustina on how our love consoles the Heart of Jesus: “Then Jesus said to me, ’LOOK AND SEE THE HUMAN RACE IN ITS PRESENT CONDITION.’ In an instant, I saw horrible things: the executioners left Jesus, and other people started scourging Him; they seized the scourges and struck the Lord Mercilessly. These were priests, religious men and women, and high dignitaries of the Church, which surprised me greatly. There were lay people of all ages and walks of life. All vented their malice on the innocent Jesus. Seeing this, my heart fell as if into a mortal agony. And while the executioners had been scourging Him, Jesus had been silent and looking into the distance; but when those other souls I mentioned scourged Him, Jesus closed His eyes, and a soft but most painful moan escaped from His Heart. And Jesus gave me to know in detail the gravity of the malice of the ungrateful souls: ‘YOU SEE, THIS IS A TORTURE GREATER THAN MY DEATH.’ Then my lips too fell silent, and I began to experience the agony of death, and I felt that no one would comfort me or snatch me from that state but the One who had put me into it.
