Mary Our Model
The Blessed Virgin Mary, the first and most perfect model of Consecrated Life in the Church, is the luminous icon of our life of reparation. We strive to make our attitude of obedience like that of her sacrifice, her “Fiat” at the Annunciation, at the Cross, and at the Resurrection of her Son. Like the Blessed Virgin we are called to respond in humble, joyful acceptance to whatever the Lord desires for us at every moment of our lives. With her we are called to glorify the Lord, praising him in every circumstance, seeking to atone for the sins of ingratitude and disobedience heaped upon the Sacred Heart of Jesus.
Another aspect of our special devotion to the Mother of God is our effort to make reparation for the sins committed against her Immaculate Heart. At Fatima, Jesus said to Sr. Lucia, “Have pity on the Heart of your Most Holy Mother. It is covered with thorns with which ungrateful men pierce it at every moment, and there is no one to remove them with an act of reparation." The Sister of Reparation offers her love and honor through the daily recitation of the Holy Rosary in common, celebrating her feasts with particular fervor, a community Holy Hour on First Saturdays, Communion of Reparation on first Saturdays, and every Saturday of the year abstaining from desserts and praying the Canticle of Reparation to the Blessed Virgin.
